A game doesn't need to be based on a confusing idea to turn out being entertaining while also addictive at the same time. The proof is Ironpants for iPhone, a game similar to the extremely successful Flappy Bird in which we have to control the flight of the main characters to avoid that he crashes into the obstacles he comes across.
An innovating idea doesn't guarantee success
In Ironpants our hero will fly from left to right of our screen, and we'll only need a finger to control him. The idea is to dodge the obstacles spread around the scenario, in this case piles of boxes, that hardly leave us a small gap to go through. And as you already know, the further you go, the more points you'll score.
Try to fly as much as you can.
Obviously, this game can't be considered innovating or ground-breaking, in fact, even its 8-bit aesthetics give it a rather retro aspect. But it's precisely this simplicity that makes Ironpants appealing compared to the wide range of games with much more sophisticated graphics and harder controls that are currently available.
