The video gaming giant Nintendo took its time to enter the world of mobile games. It wasn't until 2016 with Pokémon GO and Super Mario Run, the official game of the company's most charismatic character. However, not long before it had tried its luck with Miitomo, a peculiar chat and messaging app.
What is Miitomo?
Well, it's basically a chat and messaging application that allows its users to communicate by means of avatars. If you've ever played The Sims on your PC you know that you can design your very own one, don't you? You can invent a Sim or make it your spitting image... well, here it's the same but in this case, you won't be in a game but you can use it to talk to your real-life friends.
Much more creative than Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram or LINE.
You're probably wondering how this application, that's also available in APK format for Android and Nintendo Switch, exactly works. Well, you'll have to download the application from the App Store and configure your Mii (your Sim equivalent) choosing its physical traits, clothes, and other details to portray your personality. Then answer a few personal questions and your avatar will be ready for some chitchat.
- Set your avatar to be your spitting image or create a totally new one.
- Define its personality and how it talks.
- Create an avatar using your phone's camera.
- Send and receive messages from your contacts.
- Decorate your Mii's room and change your clothes whenever you fancy.
- Purchase all sorts of items.
- Create characters to live with your Mii.
- Built-in minigames.
As you've probably imagined, some of these features and functions require that you make in-app purchases to buy virtual coins. There are no cheats or hacks to be able to get hold of money for free.
