The Lord of the Rings Online is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in Middle Earth, that will allow you to live your own adventures in the world created by JRR Tolkien, that is inhabited by Hobbits, Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, and Humans.

As in any other online role-playing game all the missions, quests and sub-quests will have a great impact on the development of our character.

The role-playing game based on Lord of the Rings

As is logical, The Lord of the Rings Online or LOTRO is a faithful recreation of Middle Earth, including such well-known places as Mordor, Angmar, Lothlorien, Mirkwood, the Shire and Gondor, to name just a few of the spots that were named in the books. All these places hide within them the possibility of adventure, and that will be the main reason that we will have to travel round Middle Earth.

Improving our character will be one of the most entertaining parts of the game, as with any other role-playing game, and The Lord of the Rings Online is no exception. The virtues, needs, features, and skills will all be up to us. And level after level we will have to try to build the best avatar possible.

Maybe you want to be a stubborn Dwarf warrior like Gimli, or an Elven archer like Legolas, you may think that you have what it takes to be the heir of the kings and taken on a role similar to Aragorn (Strider), or are you as wise a Gandalf and think yourself worthy of the Istari, and of course, you may want to remember the main role that took Bilbo to the Far Mountain in “There and Back Again” (The Hobbit) or Frodo all the way to Mount Doom in Mordor. All this and much more is possible in The Lord of the Rings Online.
