It doesn't matter whether you've got an LG, Huawei or HTC Android device... or even a Sony Bravia or Samsung TV. If there on the same WiFi network, you can connect them through this app that's beating Bluetooth in connectivity.

What is WiFi Direct?

WiFi Direct + turns one of the devices into a wireless access point, very similarly to how we share the Internet from our phone with a computer. It's also similar to how wireless printers connect to our PC sharing the same WiFi network to be able to work remotely. Or cameras that use this system to transfer pictures straight to a phone or tablet.

It supports transfers of any kind of file.

What's the difference between WiFi Direct + and Bluetooth?

Bluetooth and WiFi Direct + work pretty much the same, by connecting two devices in order to transfer files between them. Thus, one of them works as the sender and the other as the receiver. The main difference has to do with the transfer speed, being much higher in the case of the app we're talking about today. Furthermore, security is also greater because with Bluetooth you also share certain private data that, in the case of being intercepted, can be quite dangerous.

And one thing that's cool about this tool is that any data is transferred at full throttle. However, connecting two devices might take you some time and you may need to reboot your WiFi now and again, especially the first time. You can also purchase the pro version of WiFi Direct + to get rid of adverts and obtain an even higher transfer speed.

Requirements and additional information:

  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 4.1.
  • Offers in-app purchases.
