The MS-DOS operating system was used during many years on personal computers, because even when operating systems with a graphical interface, like Windows 3.1 or Windows 95, had been launched, they still worked with an underlay of MS-DOS. Over those years many important games were launched, some of which are considered real classics, which you will now have the possibility to play once again thanks to DOSBox.

Emulate the old MS-DOS OS

Thanks to DOSBox, the user will be able to access a console which perfectly emulates the old MS-DOS terminal line, with the possibility to mount a hard drive with all the ROMs of the games and then launch each of them without further complications.

Due to the features of DOSBox, users will have the possibility to play once again at classic games like The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, which were the first two installments of this famous RPG saga, the great titles by SSL like Eye of the Beholder or Panther General, or other games like Sid Meier's Civilizations, SimCity, X-Com: UFO Defense or Command and Conquer: Red Alert, to name just a few of the most important titles.

Therefore, if you want to have the chance to play some of the most important classic titles once again, you only have to download DOSBox for free.

Requirements and additional information:
  • This download is focused on Debian distributions and those that are based on it.
  • This download doesn't include the ROMs of the games.
