Flipboard for iOS is an application to read news that defines itself as a totally customizable digital magazine. And the truth is that the concept and how it's used is rather similar to what they defend, because you will be able to insert your news feeds and view them in a comfortable and simple way; directly from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
A totally customizable magazine within your reach.
Even though it isn't 100% necessary, if you want to access the full potential of Flipboard it is advisable to create an account to store your preferences and be able to add specific sources. If you don't want to, you will still have access to hundreds of different news sources, divided into categories, with the possibility to add your own from a search engine or by starting a session on various social networks and news services, because Flipboard is capable of handling the following services:
- Google Reader.
These applications will have their own section within the main Flipboard panel, and in the case of some of them it will be possible to specify the particular sections that we want to follow, like a folder in Google Reader, a Twitter account or Facebook page. If you don't find what you are looking for, you can always make use of the integrated search engine to try to add it to the Flipboard margin or to any of the abovementioned accounts.
At a user level, Flipboard is extremely comfortable, because from the main screen of the application it will be possible to access the other sections, and once you're reading, to move on to the next article you'll only swipe the screen sideways on your iPad or downwards on its smaller brothers.
