Choose Settings from the pop-up menu.

On the new screen, scroll down to the information section, look for Play Store Version and tap seven times on it. Make sure to tap it quickly. Otherwise, a notification will appear indicating whether or not your version of Google Play is up to date. If you are doing it right, you will be prompted when you are just a few taps away from activating the developer options.

Note that once you have activated them, you will not be able to deactivate them, but this should not worry you, as it is just another menu option. Once you have these options active, one more line will be added to the Google Play settings menu, called Internal Application Sharing. If you decide to activate this button, you will be able to download and install internal test tools that are shared through Google Play and are not available to other users.

If you use Google Play as a regular user, it is probably of little interest to you to activate the developer options. These internal tests are aimed at advanced users or developers since the tools are unfinished versions of apps that have not passed controls by Google. For the regular user, it is recommended to just use the applications available to the general public on Google Play.
