Protect the privacy of your multimedia files
The gallery of our Android smartphone is usually full of all sorts of photos and videos. Whether images taken straight from our phone's camera, multimedia files we've received via WhatsApp or photos downloaded from the Internet. Many of those pics may be private and personal and we don't want anyone else to see them. And even though almost everyone has their phone protected with a PIN number or lock pattern, sometimes our phone might remain unlocked allowing anyone us to access our gallery.

To solve this problem there are applications like Hide Something with which you can protect any image, GIF or video from prying eyes in a simple manner that only you (or anyone that knows your lock pattern) can get to them. Unfortunately, it only works with files in your gallery, so if you want to know how to hide your pictures and videos on Facebook and Instagram, you'll have to resort to another kind of application.
How to hide photos within your Android gallery?
Just download and install the APK of Hide Something Photos & Videos and open the application. It will ask you to configure and confirm a lock pattern so that only you can access your hidden pictures and videos. From there on, hiding multimedia files is as easy as following these steps:
- Step 1: Choose the Visible tab to access all the folders that anyone can see in your gallery.
- Step 2: Browse to the folder where the photo you want to hide is located.
- Step 3: Press on the image in question until it's selected.
- Step 4: Tap on the icon represented by a ghost.
- Step 5: Click on Accept when the application asks whether you want to hide the image.
From that moment onwards, that image (the functioning is identical for videos) will no longer be visible from your smartphone's gallery. The only way to view it will be through the HD SMTH app after unlocking it with your pattern. You can see all the hidden files within the Invisible tab.
