If you're growing old, you'll definitely remember those coloring books in which you had to color in drawings following a number pattern. You were given a drawing and depending on the number that appeared in the middle of each space, you had to paint it with a certain color. You might have preferred normal coloring books or to draw your own masterpieces, with more creative freedom but this particular way of drawing was also great to satisfy your curiosity finding out what was hiding behind the pattern. But now no longer do you have to spend your money on paper and pencils because Alexey Grigorkin offers us this curious application for Android with which we can paint straight on our mobile device.
Kids and adults love coloring in by numbers, with plenty of options to choose from.
How does this work?
But how am I going to be able to paint on my phone? Well, it's simple. Just open Sandbox Coloring and choose a drawing amongst the loads that are offered. Select whichever one you like and you'll be provided a color guide. Depending on which one you've chosen, the number of figures will be greater or smaller. Each number is equivalent to a different color. You'll then have to zoom into the drawing with your fingers so you can see the numbers clearly. You'll be able to paint one by one or leaving your finger pressed to make use of the magnifying glass. This last method is faster but it's also harder to keep within the lines.
Coloring by numbers is a great way of teaching your kids or pupils how to use a legend and gives them the opportunity to work their motor skills.
The result is somewhat pixellated but it looks cool, something similar to a cross-stitch canvas. The drawings you're working on will appear in the menu on the right, whilst the new ones will be identified with the New tag. It's a relaxing pastime and a great alternative to offer kids something to do and not get bored. And they can even learn their numbers if they still didn't know them.
