One of the greatest modern dramas is not looking good in a selfie. Even if you put on your sexiest smile or you pull out your tongue whilst you pretend to be a gangster, if you move at the last moment, your 900 dollar iPhone won't be able to offer you anything decent. A first-world problem.
But don't worry because Google is at everything and you won't have to spend hours on end trying to put together your best smiles and postures because you can now make use of Selfissimo!.
Artificial intelligence at the service of the selfie
Sergey Brin and Larry Page, founders of Google, probably couldn't sleep at night because of so many blurry selfies on Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat. That might lead to fewer likes and cause some kind of emotional trauma.
So they got their Oompa Loompas working in their research lab where they try to develop crazy avantgarde things: Research at Google. There they tried to find a way to apply all their knowledge about artificial intelligence to selfies. And finally, their AI engineers and coders came up with an up that managed to solve such a huge problem.
And the result is this Selfissimo!, an app that comes along with a version for Android and iPhone, capable of taking the best selfie of them all. How? Well, it's capable of detecting when the model stops moving to start shooting bursts of photos. In other words, whilst the app is in the photography mode, each time it detects that you're still it will shoot loads of pictures but none whilst you're moving. Therefore, you can just focus on pouting, looking into the distance or any other embarrassing posture.
It only takes photos when you're still.
Seriously, this app is the result of all the research the company of the search engine is carrying out in the field of artificial intelligence and its application to our daily life. It's definitely one of the best selfie applications to the date that manages to make the most of the stunning performance of high-end smartphone cameras such as those of the iPhone better than any other tool.
