Snapchat has a section where you and your friends appear on the map. Of course, depending on the circumstances, this may be a problem from a privacy perspective. Therefore, its developers have included a ghost mode, letting you hide your location from your contacts.

The ghost mode can operate fully or partially. In the case of the first mode, the location is hidden from all your friends, without any exception. On the other hand, if you choose to use this mode partially, you will be able to specify the friends who can see your location and those who cannot.

To activate the ghost mode, tap on the cogwheel button at the top of the screen in the Map section.

Open the map’s settingsOpen the map’s settings

In the options list, activate Ghost mode to enable it fully, without adding exceptions.

Enable the ghost modeEnable the ghost mode

In the pop-up dialog, select how long the ghost mode should be active. It is possible to choose from 3 hours, 24 hours, or indefinitely.

If you want to use the ghost mode partially, deactivate it using the slider.

Then, select one of the options you will see below. If you choose My Friends, Except, you will be able to choose the friends that are not allowed to see your location. In the case of Only These Friends, it lets you choose the friends who can see you on the map.

Do not forget that you can activate or deactivate this mode as many times as you want. The most important thing is to remember to enable it at the time you do not want to publicly share your location. On the other hand, if you prefer never to share it, the ghost mode can be kept active indefinitely.
