Not without controversy about a potential attack on citizens' confidentiality, France has launched an application jointly developed by the French Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Secretariat of State in charge of Digitization to try to control the spread of coronavirus.
The TousAntiCovid app traces contact. This process involves tracking contact among different people in a completely anonymous way and without recording any individual geographical coordinates. This system aims to avoid the spread of the virus by isolating people at risk of contagion in France much more quickly in France.
Protect yourself, protect your loved ones; let's protect each other.
How does TousAntiCovid work?
It is straightforward. After accepting the necessary permissions, users must turn on the Bluetooth and activate the tracking by clicking a button. From then on, the app will use this connectivity system to detect other users' phones and will warn you if the device has been near a COVID-19 positive individual.
The lab will include a QR code with the results that must be entered into the phone to alert users who have been in the vicinity of their position if the person tests positive for coronavirus.
