SEGA is doing really well. Although it's taking advantage of old games and the nostalgia caused by its SEGA Forever collection, it's managing to become popular again, as well as earning loads of money. That's because being able to play classic games totally for free (with in-app purchases and/or adverts) is a bargain. This time it's the turn for Streets of Rage Classic, the iPhone and iPad remake of the classic beat'em up originally published back in 1991.
One of the most influential beat'em ups of all time.
In this game, you can take on the role of three ex-cops, each one with their own skills and weaknesses, in order to tidy up the streets that Mr. X is disrupting. As they no longer have a gun, they'll have to use their fists as well as bottles, pipes, and knives to face up to the baddies that are lurking on the streets of the city they swore to protect.
You can lead any one of them towards the hidden alternative ending after eight levels of frenetic action, controlling their movements by means of comfortable touchscreen buttons. You can save the game at any moment and put your score up to other online players from all over the world. If you run out of lives, you can always watch an advert to continue kicking the ass of the bad guys.
Three playable characters, each one with their own strengths and devastating combos.
For one or two players
One of the best things about this title is that it comes along with a multiplayer mode. Thus, you can play solo but you've also got the option to connect via WiFi and seek the help of a friend to face up to the hordes of baddies that are trying to rule the streets.
