Although using a version other than the original WhatsApp can lead to some inconveniences such as getting your account banned, usually temporarily, there are a large number of alternatives that in one way or another can meet your needs. Long before the rise of MODs that we all know as GBWhatsApp, YOWhatsApp or WhatsApp Plus (which we recommend you well ahead of this one for its constant updating), there were more limited developments such as WhatsAppMD.

This MOD, created back in 2014 by Joaquim Cuitiño, focuses especially on the aesthetic part of the application. At the time, Google's Material Design took a long time to reach the messaging client par excellence so this developer decided to go a little ahead with WhatsAppMD.

The operation of the famous instant messaging application with this MOD is exactly the same and it does not include additional settings or menus. It only allows you to enjoy the animations and aesthetics that characterized Material Design at first (that is if you get it to work since it is based on a version of WhatsApp already quite old: the 2.11.481).

Requirements and additional information:

• Minimum operating system requirements: Android 4.0.3.
• The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Applications.
