For quite some years there have been PC programs that allow us to mod video games and they soon also arrived on Android. And we can also find some of them on iPhone, although fewer, and one of the best examples is this iGameGuardian.
The alternative to Cheat Engine
These two apps are tools that allow us to mod games and apply cheats to get hold of different extra functions, such as endless lives, more coins to buy items within the game, invulnerability... all the classic cheats and tricks that we've always wanted to use.
With this application, we can do exactly the same on our iPhone or iPad, modifying the internal values of the video game in question. In other words, we only have to search for the number of lives, for instance, within the code and replace that number for a new amount. And so on with the rest of the variables that are part of the game.
However, this kind of app doesn't usually work in games that rely on an online connection to a server, where the action takes place, as is the case of Clash of Clans or almost all titles with an online multiplayer mode.
