I honestly think that one of the greatest pleasures in life is reading. I could spend my life reading and never get bored. That's why every reading platform should be acknowledged and celebrated. Bookmate brings to your mobile phone thousands of books that can help you live thousands of different lives.
Enjoy reading thousands of books with or without subscribing!
But what is Bookmate all about?
Well, the truth is that this application isn't just a simple reading platform. Apart from searching for and reading the books that interest you the most, you can create shelves with loads of books to be read, create lists (read, unread, favorites...), give your opinions and read those of other users, choose quotes, upload your own books, check recommendations, obtain achievements as you read and, of course, it also comes along with social functions. As you add friends you'll create something like a Facebook focused on reading, where you can exchange thoughts, ideas, and opinions about authors, books, and texts.
Thousands of books, just one monthly payment.
You'll be able to install the APK file from your Play Store but take into account that this tool only works with a premium user profile. That means that you'll have to pay an installment (hopefully, that money will end up in the authors' pockets) to be able to access its huge range of files and extensive knowledge. The price is 7.99€ a month (the first month is free) or 94.99€ a year.
Is it worth it? Well, the idea is great and it's really cool, the only problem is that your eyesight probably won't be happy with you spending hours reading on a screen with backlighting, in other words, computers, tablets, and smartphones. That's why eReaders don't have their screens lit up, making it much more comfortable to read. So, if you've got an eBook reader with WiFi, that's probably the best way you can make the most of Bookmate.
Bookmate vs Smartbooks
The first one is an application to read all sorts of books, whilst the second one is a technological tool for adaptative learning that adjusts to each person and their pace. Therefore, we're not talking about the same kind of tool and you won't have to choose between one and the other. If you're interested in a new method to learn and study, Smartbooks is what you need, but that doesn't mean that you have to give up on reading literature.
