The name of this application may not ring a bell, but if you've got an Android MTK smartphone, this means a phone with a MediaTek processor instead of a Qualcomm (the other great manufacturer of mobile processors), you should pay attention to this MTK Engineering Mode as you might find it useful.

What is MTK Engineering Mode and how does it work?

It's basically an application with which we can enable the advanced configuration options or service mode of an MTK terminal, being able to access information about the software and hardware of phones equipped with these processors, such as:

  • Usage stats.
  • Battery information: status, temperature, voltage, charge, technology, etc.
  • Information about wireless networks: connection time, signal level, etc.

Furthermore, it also allows us to increase the performance of our phone, apply minor changes to the configuration of our phone or even modify the device's IMEI, and all the latter without needing to be root or requiring superuser permissions.

Although the application's interface is quite sober and intuitive, it's definitely not an application for all users, so if you decide to download its APK we recommend you to search for a decent tutorial to learn how to handle this tool. And remember, it only works on MTK devices, so if yours isn't don't even try it.

Requirements and additional information:
  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 3.2.
