GFTP is an intuitive open source FTP client that, thanks to the simplicity of its graphical interface, will allow us to easily transfer files on any Linux operating system.

  In the application window we can observe 4 very different areas, each with a specific function: the top part in which the configuration options can be configured, the intermediate area (divided in two sections, just like a file explorer) from which we can transfer the files between our computer and a remote computer, underneath which there is a strip on which we will see a list with the tasks that are being carried out and in the bottom part we will see a log or output registry that will show the state of the connections and the errors (if there are any).

  Among the supported protocols we will be able to find HTTP, FTP, FSP and SSH2. This last one provides us the possibility to perform secure connections. Another feature that is worth highlighting is the possibility to save "favorites" with different FTP connections configured. Thus we will be able to access any of them with a single click.

  If you want to create backups of your files on a server or update your website's files, it's essential that you have an FTP client like gFTP.
