3D printing processes are often expensive and complex and are nothing like 2D printing. That's why it may be necessary to control jobs remotely and OctoPrint Server is a software designed for precisely that.

An online interface for your 3D printer

This program allows you to install and configure a server from which you can control everything relating to 3D printing process through a browser. In this way, the user can simply type in an URL and authenticate theirself as a user to access an interface from which to manage different aspects of the print job, wherever they are.

These are the main features of the program:

  • Complete remote control and monitoring of print jobs.
  • Compatible with different printer models and extensive functions with programs such as Pushbullet, Telegram or SlackRecording.
  • STL file chopper.
  • Configurable events to deal with external commands or send commands in GCode to your printer.

If you are involved in the world of 3D printing, you will know that this is advanced software and its installation is not as easy as the rest of the applications we are used to. The software comes in an IMG file and to install it you need Python 2.7 and Microsoft Visual C++ compiler for this version, as well as to execute the process from the Windows command console.

Requirements and additional information:

  • Requires Python 2.7 and Microsoft Visual C++ compiler for this version of Python.
