Never lose your key location points and have them handy

Suppose you have to go to another city for business or pleasure – you need to be fully aware of a few important things: where you parked your car, where you can get something to eat, or where your hotel is. You need to be able to mark them on the map on your mobile as if they were pins on a paper map.

Fix the points on the map in order to find them again easily.

That is just what GPS Base is for. It’s not an application that will tell you how to get to just about anywhere, like Google Maps or Waze, but rather a map for saving the location of places of interest to you in a specific area, so that you can always get back to them following precise directions on the screen of your handset.

Simple and effective but somewhat limited

One good thing you can say about GPS Base is that it is just what it says it is on the label – a basic global positioning tool, where you can save up to 6 key locations. So, don’t go expecting anything else from it and then getting disappointed; it can’t match the sophistication of other applications, such as the ones we mentioned above, and doesn’t try to.

It lacks wider functionality. The app works just fine, but it is still a long way off being anything you could consider to be a full GPS experience. Nevertheless, if what you are looking for is a basic GPS, then it’s ideal for you. These are its main features:

  • You can store up to 6 different locations.
  • You can view maps in normal, satellite or hybrid mode.
  • You can customize screen colors.

Requirements and additional information:

  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 2.3
