Twitter developers have worked with their hearts and souls, but Android's client for this social network is still not more than functional. It does not reach the productivity levels other unofficial developments offer. So if the official app is not enough for you, check out Harpy, a great alternative with a more pleasant design-centered user experience.

A much more pleasant and functional tweeting experience

So far, the developers of this app have not added any groundbreaking features to manage the social network. They have focused on offering a much more carefully designed interface than the official client's one. In this way, users will see a much cleaner and customizable interface, where all the interesting information stands out: the actual tweets. Since they stand out better against the background, they are easier to read, and it is easier to follow conversation threads.

Designed in open source and with Flutter, a Google-developed framework that facilitates app programming, Harpy offers the following features:

  • Basic Twitter actions: follow and unfollow, write posts, retweet, mark tweets as favorites...
  • Timeline cleanup.
  • Tweet consecutive reading.
  • Flexible customization with different themes.
  • Easy tweeting.
  • Spaces voice chats.

If you are looking for a more convenient way to use Twitter, which is easier on your eyes, we recommend Harpy. However, keep in mind that, for now, it is in beta test phase, so it can be unstable at times.

Requirements and additional information:

  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 4.4.
  • The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Applications.
