A SOCKS5 client for Android
Android users are becoming increasingly aware that it can be very useful to hide your IP address when browsing. Using a SOCKS proxy server can be one way to achieve this (although there are currently better ones). This protocol intercepts connections and works as an intermediary towards the remote server when we are online. In this way, the 'real' identity and data of the user are kept anonymous.
A free SOCKS5 proxy server for your smartphone
The app we are introducing today, SocksDroid, is a SOCKS5 client for Android devices that works through Vpn Service. Users of this type of software much appreciated this type of proxy as it was very secure. It created a firewall and other security methods that were easy to manage, such as an authentication system, support for UDP proxy, or the possibility to make DNS requests through the proxy.
However, nowadays, we have VPNs, which are much more secure since the tunnel it builds manages to encrypt all user traffic and not only the IP, with a much higher level of complexity.
