Much before the arrival of Gmail, there were already many other email services that were popular amongst Internet users. Yahoo was probably the most popular one but Hotmail, the service maintained by Microsoft, wasn't too far behind. But it put a full stop to its development when it decided to upgrade the service to Outlook. However, that's another story.
This is the Android app that allows you to access this service wherever it's still available because at present it doesn't work in all countries. However, just take a look at the screenshots to check out for yourself its old-fashioned design.
This is what you'll find in this email client if you manage to install it:
- Outdated and rudimentary design.
- Check the emails you receive.
- Function to write new messages.
- Inbox with all your new messages received.
- Search for messages amongst all your sent and received emails.
- Group your emails into different folders.
This email service is no longer available in all places.
You can no longer register or create a Hotmail account. However, you can still log in with your former account at Outlook.com which is much better and fully updated, and adapted to modern systems, with push notifications, synchronization between different devices, calendar synchronization, contacts...
Microsoft has moved the former accounts of this service and MSN although your username, password, emails, and rules have all been preserved. Furthermore, you can now also access OneDrive, the company's cloud storage service.
However, if you fancy going back in time 6 or 7 years, that's up to you. Our recommendation is that you start downloading Outlook right now to be able to make the most of its dozens of interesting functions.
