To update Microsoft Office on Android, as always, you have two ways: through Malavida, and through Google Play.

How to update Microsoft Office from Malavida

Before doing anything, on the desktop of your device, click on Settings:

Android desktopAndroid desktop

Then, click on Apps & notifications:

Android settingsAndroid settings

Find Office on the list and click on it:

Android app settingsAndroid app settings

Now, scroll to the bottom of the screen, find the version number, and write it down:

Office’s versionsOffice’s versions

Now, click on the Office download button in this article. You will enter the Office download, from where you will now have to look at the version number of the application and compare it with the one we wrote down. If the one we have in our device is lower than the one we see on the web, click on the green button:

Office page on MalavidaOffice page on Malavida

We will go to the download page. Again, click on the green button to start the process:

When we already have the Office APK file in our device, we will have to open any file manager (in this case Google Files). Click on Downloads:

Download folder in FilesDownload folder in Files

The download folder will open. Here, we will find the Office APK file, which we will have to click on:

Office APK in FilesOffice APK in Files

The installation will start. The system will first ask for confirmation to install the app. Click on Install:

Office’s installation buttonOffice’s installation button

The application will be installed:

Office’s installation progressOffice’s installation progress

We will be notified when it is done:

Office has been installed from FilesOffice has been installed from Files

And that is all, we will have Office updated to the new version.

How to update Microsoft Office from Google Play

First, open Google Play and click on the search box:

Google Play’s search barGoogle Play’s search bar

Then, type office and click on the magnifying glass on your keyboard:

Search for Office in Google PlaySearch for Office in Google Play

Again, we will keep the first result and click on it:

Results for Office in Google PlayResults for Office in Google Play

If an update is available, we will see the following on the screen. Click on Update and the update will be downloaded and installed in our device:

Updating from Google PlayUpdating from Google Play

And there you go, we will have updated office in our device.

This process is somewhat simpler than the previous one, but is not as effective as installing the update yourself for one simple reason: Google Play may not receive new versions of the applications as they are released. In contrast, trusted repositories (like ours) always have the latest versions of APK files.
