Many people, myself included, love plants but just don’t have green fingers. PictureThis can lend you a hand in trying to get plants to survive, to flourish and to bloom in all their beauty.

This application is a huge plant database with more than 10,000 species which allows users to identify plants and flowers using a simple photo taken on their device. It is able to show in-depth information on the plants you are interested in and advice on how to go about nurturing them.

Expert gardeners, learners, and those who are just curious can all access a huge amount of information on plants, flowers and trees.

Main features

  • The database identifies more than 10,000 different species using powerful artificial intelligence.
  • Includes picture galleries of different species using other users’ photos.
  • Each plant file includes information and advice on how to look after them.
  • Identified plants are added to the user´s own record and can be used to create and expand the user´s own collection.
  • Users have access to hundreds of wallpapers, in order to display the prettiest flowers on the screen of their device.
  • Photos taken can be shared to grow the database and to help other users identify plants they are not familiar with.

However, the development of this kind of artificial intelligence costs a lot of money, so this app is based on a paid subscription. You can try it free for a week, and if you like it and wish to continue it will cost you 21.99 euros a year. If you are not convinced, don’t forget to turn off your subscription in the Play Store.

Requirements and additional information:
  • Minimum operating system requirements: Android 4.4.
  • Offers in-app purchases.
