Sometimes Facebook has its good things too. Back in 2013, it partnered with several mobile internet service providers (ISPs) to provide free access to various websites to promote the use of the network in developing countries. The initiative was born on Internet.org, although today, it is known as Free Basics by Facebook.

Can I connect to the Internet for free?

This platform gives customers of certain mobile operators free access to some websites considered "basic". For example, they will be able to access BBC News, AccuWeather, ESPN, BabyCenter and MAMA, UNICEF, and of course, Facebook. However, the websites available may be different depending on the country you are in.

This means that by downloading the APK file, users can communicate with other people, search for jobs, and consult news, among other things. Of course, we must have a valid phone number and our operator must be a participant in the program. If so, we will not be charged for the data we use to navigate with this app (but the rest of the apps still have their corresponding cost).

You can connect to Facebook and other websites for free using a SIM card from one of the mobile operators participating in the program.

Ultimately, the noble purpose is that everyone can surf the Internet regardless of whether or not they have the money to pay the data rate. However, a cellphone number and SIM card are required.
