About me…

I am a journalist by profession. Then, by chance, I started testing software and writing about it. After 15 years, I am still interested in discovering new applications, websites, and gadgets that make our lives easier. I have had the privilege of experiencing the birth, growth, languishing, and evolution of thousands of projects related to applications, social media, and the Internet. During this time, I have been able to test all kinds of apps, online services, and operating systems. And I have shared it in articles, guides, tips, news, and reports. To this day, I still get surprised when I discover a hidden feature or see an update or new design of a website.

Personally, I have always been attracted to electronic devices. From the first video game consoles and computers I held in my hands to the new devices launched by giants such as Samsung, Xiaomi, or Apple. I always try to get in touch with as many ecosystems as possible and familiarize myself with the trendy app of the moment. And although there are trends that I will never understand, I love to see how human beings relate in a natural way to technologies that not long ago we thought were impossible. The future is technological and I hope to be there to see it.

Curiosity is what drives us forward.
Some short questions…
  • What operating system do you prefer or use the most?

I use macOS, iOS and iPadOS on a daily basis. For convenience and because they have never let me down. But I like to try Windows, Android, and Linux whenever I can to keep up to date.

  • In your opinion, which is the best mobile operating system?

I'll stick with iOS. Android is better for the experienced user because it gives you more freedom. But for the average user, you will always find yourself configuring or installing something, while iOS comes all set by default.

  • What application is a must on your computer?

An alternative browser such as Brave. All other apps I use are available online. Maybe a clipboard manager like ClipClip or Ditto. On my Mac I use Clippy.

  • And on your smartphone?

The apps I use the most are Twitter, Podcasts, Telegram, Mail, and Safari. I also consider Shazam, TDTChannels, Wikipedia, and Swarm a must.

  • Do you have a favourite game?

On PC, the entire Age of Empires saga. On consoles, the Need for Speed and Far Cry sagas. I also enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn and Fallout 4 a lot. My first games were Tetris and Super Mario Land 2 on Game Boy.

  • Fond of social networks? Which is your favourite?

I do not dislike them. The one I spend the most time on is Twitter. I log on to Instagram from time to time, and very occasionally, Facebook. And since I am quite old already, I do not understand the success of Snapchat or TikTok.

  • If you had to choose, which would you say has been the greatest technological invention of the last century?

The internet and everything related to it. All the inventions that surprise us today or are successful depend on the Internet. Virtual reality, 5G, smartphones, mobile apps, smart homes, virtual assistants, and more. Everything revolves around it.

  • Who do you consider has contributed most towards the development of software?

I'll keep two. First, Linus Torvalds. Thanks to him we have Linux, which gave a great boost to free software. Thanks to this, we have a lot of free software and millions of people live directly or indirectly from Linux. Android itself would not have been possible without Linux. Second, Steve Jobs. Without the iPhone, mobile apps would not be what they are today. In the past, mobile phones had closed systems with two or three preinstalled apps. With the iPhone and the App Store, dozens of companies dedicated to making mobile apps emerged overnight.
