Activating Chrome’s navigation bar is really useful as it offers some extra possibilities that are not there by default, open and click on the address bar. Type chrome://flags:

Access to Chrome FlagsAccess to Chrome Flags

You will see the following screen:

Chrome FlagsChrome Flags

In the search box, type "duet." These are the results that you will get:

Searching for Chrome DuetSearching for Chrome Duet

Click Default on both. On the context menu that will open, click Enabled:

Enabling the browser barEnabling the browser bar

A notification will appear at the bottom of the screen to inform you that you need to restart the application for changes to be effective. Click Relaunch:

Sometimes it is not enough to restart the application, you need to quit and reopen it. Either way, if everything went well, you should see this at the bottom:

How do you personalize it? Use your Flags menu. Go back to the screen where you activated Chrome Duet and click Enabled in the specific menu. You will see the bar customization options. There are three, Enabled Home-Search-TabSwitcher Variation:

Enabled Home-Search-Share Variation:

And Enabled NewTab-Search-Share Variation:

Each of them offers a different combination of buttons, and that is as far as Google will let users customize this bar. It would be very useful if users could add or remove buttons depending on their needs. However, for now, the Big G quite restricts possibilities. Anyway, we hope that in time, it will allow further (and easier) customization.
