There are quite a few multimedia remote control applications for Android, such as TubeMote or the one at hand, Tubio. These are not the only ones since you can find apps for music player remote control and even turn your smartphone into a remote control.

Tubio brings the main Internet multimedia playback services to your television.

With this application, users can watch YouTube or Dailymotion videos; they also have the possibility to play SoundCloud music and even watch videos from social media like Instagram and Facebook. When it comes to sources, it is one of the most complete apps we have found so far.

Tubio is quite easy to use. Just open the app, find the source from which you want to play content, select what you want to watch or hear and send it to your Chromecast or AirPlay. And it is even better if you have a SmartTV: it supports a good number of them eliminating the need for an additional casting device.

If we had to say something bad about this application, it would be that it connects directly with web services, which can slow down the experience on mobile devices a bit. On the other hand, we do understand that it is not possible to make the services’ official applications work with it directly because they have their own mirroring services.
