It looks like Nintendo is getting the hang of releasing applications for Android and iPhone. After developing the social messaging app Miitomo and the much-awaited Super Mario Run (firstly for iOS including a worldwide presentation during the Apple Keynote), it's now the turn of the game saga Fire Emblem, that combines strategy and role-playing.
A saga with over 25 years of history
The first of the more than fifteen games of this series (this is the sixteenth title) was launched back in 1990 under the name of Fire Emblem Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi (translated to English as Dragon of Darkness and Sword of Light). From the very first title that was developed for the legendary 8-bit NES, several other episodes have been released for different platforms such as Super NES, Game Boy (Classic and Advance), Nintendo DS, Wii, GameCube, and 3DS. Now, with its arrival to mobile devices, it's finally leaving the Nintendo ecosystem to enter the increasingly powerful mobile field.
A classic series of video games for video consoles.
Can I download and play the game for free?
In Fire Emblem Heroes, the sequel to Fates, we won't have to pull our hand out of our pocket like in the mobile version of Mario Bros., which you can play for free during its first level but that requires a payment of $10 to download the full game. Well, you won't have to pay unless you want to... because you know how this goes: start playing and if you want to get hold of certain elements to improve your character or the gameplay, just go to the store and buy them.
What are its greatest and newest features?
This game, although based on the main plot of the series (just like Awakening, Echoes, and other titles) with which it has common elements such as its classic system to command battle units on a grid, incorporates all these new features to win over more fans:
- Turn-based strategy and role-playing game.
- Avatars with summoning powers to invoke the game's legendary heroes.
- Turn-based battles on controllable maps.
- New characters and legendary heroes.
- Different game modes.
- Practice maps to learn the ins-and-outs of fighting.
- Support for the multiplayer mode.
How to download and install the game?
Well, if you're here because you were wondering how to download the APK of the game and install it on your smartphone, tablet or PC by means of an emulator of the likes of BlueStacks or Andy, you should know that that isn't possible. You'll have to wait because, for the time being, you can only pre-register for the game on Google Play (through the download button you'll find on this page). Once registered, you'll be informed about all the latest news concerning this game.
