All important technological companies (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon...) are investing more and more in communications within professional and academic environments. In fact, SMEs, large companies, and research and education centers are a potential source of income as they are licensed users of their programs, so nobody should be surprised that they're always developing useful work environments to cover their needs.
Microsoft has done so with Microsoft Planner, an app for iPhone and Android that intends to simplify the communications between the members of a work team. Specifically, between those that use Office 365, the office suite for which this application has been developed and the goal of which is to make it much easier to organize and manage tasks in groups.
Greater productivity and fluidity in communications.
A planner for Office 365
This app has been designed to organize our work, so don't expect anything else than an intuitive and visual interface to make it easier to carry out this task. It comes along with all the following functions:
- Organization by means of panels where you can classify the tasks according to their status or the user assigned to the latter.
- Simple organization based on dragging and dropping elements.
- Allows collaborative work on the same tasks and even the possibility to chat about them without having to switch applications and share multimedia elements such as photos.
- Organization of conversations according to each plan.
- Synchronization between different devices.
Microsoft Office has become an office suite that has known how to adapt to the new demands required by work in different fields due to the evolution of technology. That's why, despite there being other free options such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice, it continues to be the favorite among companies and research and educational centers for all tasks to be carried out on documents.
With this Planner, Microsoft intends to simplify the communications between users of Office 365, preventing them from having to resort to third-party apps of the likes of Trello or Slack which are also dedicated to improve the management and productivity of these kinds of projects.
However, one of the basic requirements to be able to use this task planner is to have a professional or educational license of Office 365.
