Who created Garena Free Fire

Garena Free Fire is a mobile game created by 111dots Studio. However, the party behind its publication is Garena, a company located in Singapore and belonging to the business conglomerate called Sea LTD. It was founded in 2009 by Forrest Lin, current President, and CEO, as a digital entertainment platform, and since then, it distributes PC and mobile content focused mainly on the Southeast Asian market, although over time, it has spread to other areas. Its name is an acronym for the words "global" and "arena". Its market value in 2015 was over $2.5 billion, although the current value is unknown, it may be far higher considering that Garena Free Fire was released two years after this estimate and how incredibly popular it has become since then.

They are responsible for the exclusive distribution of games in Southeast Asia or Latin America through their Garena platforms, such as League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, FIFA Online, Point Blank, or Alliance of Valiant Arms. Free Fire was the first game of their own brand to be launched back in 2017. Later on, they also launched their own racing game, known as Garena Speed Drifters.

On Android, it was awarded Best Game by People' s Vote in 2018, according to the Google Play Store. It was the fourth most downloaded game combining data from Google and Apple stores in 2018. That year, it also ranked as the second most downloaded battle royale, above Fortnite, and only one place below PUBG, althoug things have obviously changed since then.
