WhatsApp includes some customization options that you may want to know if you want to adjust the look of your application to your personal preferences. This time, we are talking about wallpapers for chats.
Change the background in a specific chat
WhatsApp lets you change the wallpaper in each chat individually. First, access the chat in question and open the context menu with the three vertical dots button. Then, tap on Wallpaper.

Choose a wallpaper category. If you want to select a photo from your own gallery, click on My Photos.

On the preview screen, tap the Set Wallpaper button to confirm.
Adjust the image as a chat wallpaper
A pop-up message will then appear. Choose the first option for the wallpaper to be used in the selected conversation. Check the second one to set the image as background in all conversations, provided that the clear mode of the interface is activated. Finally, tap on OK to continue.
Select which chats to use the wallpaper on
Repeat this process to restore the default background or choose another image.
Change the background in all chats
If what you want is to change the background in all chats, go to WhatsApp settings.

Repeat the steps above. When the image is set as background, it will be used in all chats, including groups.
Change interface mode to modify the background
You should know that WhatsApp uses a different chat background depending on whether the dark mode is enabled or not. Until now, we have told you how to change the wallpaper of chats in clear mode.
However, to change the background in dark mode, you must first activate it. Go to the Chats section of the settings and tap on Theme.
