There are plenty of different options out there if we're looking for a music player for Android. If we're talking about music streaming, Spotify is obviously the king, as it also allows us to download songs, whilst in the field of local music players, PowerAmp is probably the most popular alternative. That means that any newcomer will find it hard to make itself some space.
Well, that's at least if it doesn't offer the user anything new. And that's what GO Music Player PLUS tries to do although we can't guarantee that it manages to do so. Furthermore, after downloading and installing the APK you might even feel like you've wasted a few minutes of your precious time that you're never going to get back.
A good idea, a bad execution
Trying to keep things sweet, GO Music PLUS isn't a bad app, it doesn't have a bad finish and it doesn't make too many mistakes but it tries to cover so many aspects that it doesn't master any of them. Its main feature is that it tries to offer something halfway between Spotify or Apple Music and a local audio player but without putting too much effort into it.
For instance, why hasn't the online feature been implemented correctly? Basically, because it takes us to YouTube to listen to music. Spotify may consume data to listen to music online but Google's video service has a much higher consumption rate.
GO Music Player PLUS wantes to be so many things that it ends up not being any of them.
On the other hand, the local music player works correctly. That doesn't mean to be any kind of praise since it doesn't improve the user's auditive experience. It doesn't include any kind of graphical equalizer or a booster for low and high tones. And there was no need for so many social capacities.
All in all, GO Music is a bunch of ideas quickly put together rather than a well-executed idea. And that's a pity because becoming a decent local player requires much more effort in all aspects than what we've found in this app.
