TikTok is a social video network. However, unlike other platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo, this social network is based on small, short video clips. Now, what is the total possible length of a video in TikTok?
If we record our content from the application, the videos can be from 3 to 60 seconds long. Because of this limitation, the content hosted in TikTok is often stunning. You can limit a video to 15 seconds yourself by using the bottom selector in the interface.

To check how much recording time you have left, use the timeline, shown at the top, in blue.

We must make a small clarification. Actually, TikTok lets you upload content that is longer than 60 seconds. To do this, you must tap on the Upload button.

Then, select a video from your phone's gallery, no matter how long it is. As you can see, the only way to exceed 60 seconds is by pre-recording the content with our device's camera application.
Is TikTok too restrictive in limiting the duration of the videos? Definitely, no. It just stays true to its philosophy and its own nature: short, shocking, and addictive videos. Thanks to the time limitation, users also express their creativity even more. It is an inherent feature of the platform, and you will have to adapt to it if you want your profile to succeed.
