Instagram has long had a list of close friends to help us share our content with a small, targeted group of people. The first thing you should do is go to your profile. Once there, tap on the three horizontal lines.

From this moment on, when you create a new story, you can share it exclusively with the people on this list. Simply tap on the Close friends button that will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Regarding this function, we must clarify something for you. Nobody will know the content of this list, so we can say that it is totally private. So, if you add or remove someone from your list, Instagram will never notify them. Also, you can modify it whenever you consider necessary, for example, by adding new contacts or deleting current ones.
