How to change your profile picture in WhatsApp

Changing the profile picture on WhatsApp is one of the easiest and fastest things we can do to customize our profile and make it more attractive and interesting. A photo of yourself will also help your contacts to identify you, but you can also put other types of photos or images, you have absolute freedom to choose the image you want.

How to set a new profile picture on WhatsApp

To carry out this process, first, open the app and tap on the menu button (top right corner of the screen):

Once there, tap on Settings:

Then, tap on your profile picture (or where it should go if you do not have it attached):

Now, tap on the camera icon below where the photo goes (or will go):

You will find three options:

Let us explain them below:

• Remove photo: removes your current profile photo and does not replace it with another one
• Gallery: opens your device gallery so you can choose a new photo (without removing the one you are currently using).
• Camera: opens the camera so you can take a picture of yourself or whatever you want.

If you choose the photo through the gallery, when you have it customized as you like, tap on Done to place it as a profile photo:

If you open the camera, take the picture and if it looks like you wish, tap on the tick button to set it as a profile picture (otherwise, tap on the cross and take another picture until you are happy with the result):
