How to promote your business on Instagram

There’s no such thing as a scientific or exact method to promote a business on Instagram but there are a series of steps that we can take into account if we want to focus our account on this social network towards business purposes. These are the things we can do:

  1. Step 1: make your profile public because if it’s private only your followers can see your posts and you should be interested in making it accessible for everyone.
  2. Step 2: configure your profile to make it eye-catching for your followers and other potential fans. In other words, choose a nice picture and username which will probably be the same as your business, company or project. Don’t forget to include a link to your website and explain in your bio who you are and what you do.
  3. Step 3: share pictures on a regular basis because it’s important to give the impression that you’re always up to date and active.
  4. Step 4: use hashtags to take advantage of current search trends (but don’t go over the top, four or five are just fine) and add descriptions to your photos to put them in context.
  5. Step 5: take advantage of your followers’ creativity, share their contents when they tag you, and appreciate it when they do so.
  6. Step 6: follow your followers to make them feel valued by your brand.
  7. Step 7: take a look at your competitors, see what you can make the most of, and analyze how to adapt their ideas to your brand.
  8. Step 8: interact with your followers by answering their questions and doubts as soon as possible. Try to be thoughtful and attentive to make them feel good.
  9. Step 9: share all sorts of content now and again, not only your products or services. Show that there’s someone human behind your profile.
